Actually, case has nothing to do with keeping “him from getting elected again”. It has everything to do with the fact that he allegedly violated multiple criminal statutes to pay off multiple women for their silence during an election. That’s the nice thing about ‘merica. You’re presumed innocent until proven guilty. The other nice thing about ‘Merica is no one is above the law. Presidents (and Presidents’ sons) included.
Even MSNBC legal pundits have said this is a tough case to make a felony. Like it or not Trump is getting a lot of legal pressure because he’s Trump. Congress has a hush money fund for paying off sexual harassment victims, the difference here is the guy is a shitty person who is divisive in a hyper partisan time and place. Charges wouldn’t have been brought if he wasn’t who he was. And the same goes for the fraud trial. It’s all designed to weaken him and send a message to others not to fuck around with the government
