I went through the first screening and was supposed to do my technical a month ago. They dropped the ball and I got excluded. I email the void for two weeks. Then, I contacted another person who reminded them, but it was too late. I then had to re-apply and wait until last week. Got some people that went into specifics of frameworks and asked me to compare them to others I'd never heard of. Then, they give feedback I didn't know enough to be successful. Their recruiting called and it HAD sounded as if I was going into the final round. NOPE. They said they might see if they can bring me in at a lower level but we'll see. No offers. My current employer has put me in an impossible position to be on-site. More Devs have left and I've picked up the Q&A they did. Now, I'm burnt-out and I just hate life. #Rejected #swe #software
It could be worst, at least you still have a job. I got an offer from Microsoft and Apple. After negotiations, I accepted Apple’s and signed all the paperwork, presented my resignation to my current employer, and waited with excitement my start date. It’s been a month and Apple keeps pushing the start date because they forgot to request more information in my background check, information I can’t get without travelling to my home country. So now, I have no wine and no cheese.
Prepare for Leetcode style interviews if you can. You’d at least be in known territory during interviews. I just don’t interview at places that want specific framework knowledge.
