Just had my first round technical interview with Chewy. I passed the online assessment. For the live coding interview, I was given a HR question which i looked up afterwards to be a LC medium question. I came up with a brute force solution relatively quickly and wrote the implementation pretty quickly (despite a few hicks with some conversions). It passed 8/13 tests but failed the remaining 5 due to time complexity. After thinking for a minute or two (speaking out loud) on what to do, I came up with a "general" idea on how to optimize the solution, however I did struggle with the implementation. With some help, I was put on the right track and almost had a working solution but ran out of time. Should I expect to get a rejection? Not sure if this round is a strict pass/fail. The solution on LC is similar to what I was trying to do, but slightly more optimal and cleaner so I'm not sure what to expect. #interview #chewy #hackerrank #software #swe
Any idea what sort of LC was asked I am having one soon
I was asked two LC easy questions in my phone screen and loop
Chewy has such a need for head count if you showed any type of proficiency in solving the problem I would bet you’re getting an offer.
Can you post what question was asked?
Phone screen top k of n, the algo portion of the next round was word count II on LC
you mean word break II?
Run! There are better places. The question prolly came from a poor soul who had no time to prep as they are overwhelmed trying to cover for 3 engineers who just left. I would not over analyze it
Chewy sucks it’s just a bunch of Amazon bros being toxic together. Avoid
Doesnt exactly answer my question but noted.
Hard to speculate on interview performance. Regardless tho, probably not worth your time. Certainly not worth worrying about whether you passed.
