Hi all, I've two job offers one from a FAANG and another from a well known technology company non-FAANG (10-30B market cap). The FAANG offer is for (FB E4/ G L4/ AM L5) for around 220 TC, the other offer is for ~170 but basically I will be among the first 10 team members of a new project that will hire > 100 over the next few years which will give me a huge growth opportunity? not sure what should I do? Yoe: 4 after masters TC: low
Sounds like you cant go wrong. After 30 YOE I tell people to get high EP and IQ (earnings potential and income quotient) but do take the job you are most passionate about and where you can make the biggest positive difference. In the end, the extra $50k is too high a price to pay for your happiness, mental health and self esteem. So if the co has morale or leadership issues, just be careful. Pick the one with highest HQ ---> Happiness Quotient!
I actually thought about that, but still not sure. Both look like good choices with risk: 1- FAANG: Risk of no promotion and getting stuck in uninteresting work. 2- Other company: Risk of bad experience/management/project failure.
What's wrong with saying the name? It gives more context.
risk of triangulation.
That's kinda BS cuz no one really cares and I don't even know who u are. It's just that we can give better advices with more context
Facebook. 170 with 4 yoe is low
the faang offer is 220
Yes hence go with facebook offer
If the extra $50k is important in your life right now, go with FANNG. Who is the 170 company? If professional growth more important, do that. FANNG will ne there in 1-3 Years for you if project goes south. If you are this torn, always go with the higher pay
Had this same dilemma. Went with FAANG. I'm enjoying the laid back culture and the extra cash. 🏖🏝🍹🥃🍻

Why is it so G*damn difficult to move money out of India
FAANG > non-FAANG, obviously
it seems many people at FAANG are stuck over promotions, not very encouraging!
