I'm a contractor (from Infosys) at Cisco.. 20 yoe. Current TC is 167k. Recently interviewed for IT Program Manager role at Cisco. The role is at Bay area... in IT, not engineering. Received 145k+15% bonus final offer. Plus usual 6k 401k match. Is this a very bad offer?
It's a pretty meh offer for Bay Area. The entire place is unbelievably expensive with absurd crime rate in the so called affordable areas. I shifted to a more expensive part of the city after a week in which I witnessed a drive by shooting, multiple muggings and one kidnapping. It was like a Apocalypse Movie
Hmmm, the offer itself might not be stellar but it gives you a springboard to something better and more lucrative in the bay..don’t discount it
Yeah, this role is in one of the better groups...
Buy the ticket, take the ride, my first TC was about 80K..I don’t know what your situation is but you be fine with the TC above..it’s all about managing your expenses, build your network and jump ship at the right time.
For bay area it’s an offer for a homeless… are you in bay rn?
I hear you, but this is usual range for Cisco ITPMs at Bay area. But this gives me a perspective and motivation to look elsewhere. Thx.
Don’t compare with cisco. It pays even less.
