I have been offered Grade 6 Software Engineer position at Cisco, Bangalore. Base Pay - 13.5 Bonus - 104000 No stock option Is this good for a SE with 3.5 years experience? If not what will be the best? #cisco #ciscocareers #ciscooffer #offer #grade6 #g6 #software
Which BU? Aim for G8. And interview at other companies as well.
WebEx
No, I don't think this is a fair deal. You should be getting at lot more at 3.5 years of exp.
Yes it's good offer.. I don't think they will give you G8 for 3.5 year experience ..
Good offer.
I got a similar offer with 1.5 yoe in 2019. This may be a lowball offer. However no hikes until now . Don't expect any hike here (maybe 5%) but you will get little bit of RSUs every year.
I was not promised of any RSUs, will that be outside CTC?
It's based on performance but everyone gets some amount atleast after every year in WebEx
Considering its Cisco India, its not a bad offer for G6. G8 is somewhat senior engineer and you need to have some good experience to get that offer. G8 is usually given for 5+ yrs of experience but you can get it for less experience given you are talented (during interview or inside job). Once inside, it may take atleast 1.5 yrs for even being considered for a g8 promotion that too you should be good performer. If you can get into better companies than Cisco, you will get more for this experience but I don't know if you have any negotiation leverage with Cisco here.
Also, I know my friend who joined as G8 in 2020 was given 14 as base (17 TC). He was also from service based company and didn't have much leverage to negotiate.
Thank you, that helps. Yeah disadvantages of coming from a Service based company
I can confirm that your current offer is at high end of g6. With one standard hike you can land up in g8 (perk is more bonus percentage than g6). Also you can ask for rsu from your manager citing none were offered.
I'm G6 with 11.5 lpa as base. This is a good offer for g6
They have stopped giving stocks before grade 11 I suppose. The deal looks good. If you have no other option go for it
I do but those are from service based
Service based companies are pathetic. You get onsite opportunity. If you lick your manager. Always go for product based.
