Starting at Cisco soon and was wondering how feasible it is to request internal transfer after 2 years from Europe to a SEA country? I donβt need a visa for that country. TC: β¬π₯ YOE: 1
I'm hoping to transfer to EU from USA in 1.5 years. Start researching teams in that area and network with the managers so they think of you first when they know they'll be opening a role.
Have you researched the reduction in salary? How do you feel about it?
I have and I've spoken with many people that have made the move (with Cisco or not). Cost of living in Europe is lower than the USA (housing, food, goods, etc), WLB is way better, more time off, safer... Definitely worth it to me.

How did this happen? (Meta Stock)
1) After a year in the role you can always apply for an Internal position, opened in that country or "everywhere in APJC". 2) Direct internal move may be possible only if there is a direct counterpart role in the same team, which is rather rare. If there is not much of choice, Try to find a team in the target country, so you can network in advance.
