Citadel comp + benefits

Question for folks with Citadel insight. I'm expecting an offer for the tech side (non quants) in the next few weeks. I've been told that the range is wide for comp, which doesn't really help. This is for NYC. Current TC: $172K YOE: 8+ 1/ what is the range I can ask /bargain that would not make me look arrogant (or too high a comp that would get me fired in 1 year, if market tanks for example) 2/ how do the titles work. Is it VP, etc or there's nothing like JS. 3/ I have seen vacation days depend on title. What equivalent title would be the one with 4 weeks of vacation (and can you even take it) 4/ how is the WLB for lateral hires. any work from home / flexibility? Any insight is appreciated. Thank you all.

My buddy with 2 yoe just got a 220k back office engineering job at Citadel FWIW. At 8yoe what the hell are you doing here? Interview at Google for L5 if you want a stable job that makes 300.

Ha ha. Not all 8 here, but yes you're right. This one came up, I wasn't even looking.

1. 8 YOE would be easy to get 400k+, but that depends heavily on the position and how front office the work is. I wouldn’t worry too much about market tanking - market exposure for job security is mainly for traders. 2. No real titles unless you manage a large section of the business. Pretty much everyone is just “software engineer”. 3. For new grads it’s 3 weeks + 3 floating days, and then after 5 yoe that increases to 4 weeks + 3 days. Not sure if an external hire would count for the 5 yoe though. In theory manager has to approve any vacation but I’ve never seen anyone have issues. 4. No one cares about when you’re in the office so some flexibility there, but expect longer hours than at a tech company. Work from home is possible but infrequent.

Thank you @bluetiger Any idea on salaries for back office for same work exp? Also when you say long hours, how many typically, per week
