Do you guys know of any other companies with insane 401k matching. I’m at John Deere and if you put in 6% they match 14%, which is like a 233% match. Any other companies that have similar matching, I know for sure faang doesn’t.
Not quite as good, but LM gives you 6% from the get go and then they give you 4% more if you put in 8%, so 10% on 8% in total
Microsoft matches 50% of all of your contributions.
That’s no where close
I don’t understand this percentage math. The 2023 contribution limit is $22,500. If you put in that max, how much do you get from the company? At Google, they’ll match 50% of every dollar you put in, no limit, so you effectively get $11,250 free.
The match is based on your base salary+bonus. You can put in up to 75% of your salary up to the limit, but employer matching only applies to 6% of your salary. If you put in 6% of you’re salary, they match 14%. For example, if you make 100k base plus bonus, you can put up to the 401k max limit, but any amount above 6%, so 6k, will yield an employer match of 14%, so 14k. So I would get 14k free.
ok so less than a 3k difference? who cares lol FAANG pays 300-500k
Referrals to John Deere?
Yes can I DM for referral
Intel - 5% of (base salary + bonus) as long as employee contributes 5% or more. if above amounts to $300k, match will be $15k up to the IRS limit.

The potential growth at these types of companies is underrated, that combined with taking home more money(as a new grad) and me wanting to live in lcol areas is the reason I’m asking.
