One of my co-workers is moonlighting. I think he has taken up a 100% remote job in the Eastern time zone. (We are in the Bay Area offices). He has been missing meetings or blocking random times on his calendar. For RTO days, I have seen him going to a conference room with a different laptop. He has also deleted(or deactivated) his LinkedIn profile. This coworker is a US citizen so that’s a factor to consider. This post is not about whether I should snitch on him but rather about asking fellow blinders about their experiences with moonlighting with RTO. Are there any legal issues if you were to moonlight? Can you be fired? Assuming there is no IP sharing/stealing, I think moonlighting comes down to breaching the employment agreement. Let’s share your experiences with moonlighting and how you can effectively manage it with the RTO mandate. TC: 270k
Your coworker is going through a divorce and has to talk to the lawyers.
He is single.
Yeah because of the divorce
Why is this your business??? Dude, get a life! Lastly, when you get laid off from your company, I doubt they will think this much about you
I do the same thing as a new grad to insulate against economy + make $ for grad school next year. Combined TC is 240.
You are getting ripped twice if your combined TC is just 240.
Grad school is shit. There’s nothing new some outdated profs can teach you that the internet can’t better in this day and age. I made the mistake and hope this can help you rethink your decision.
You can be fired and surely blacklisted from those companies. But there is no legal risk.
Are you his Manager? If you are not, leave him alone 🫣😇😂
Nothing illegal but its pretty much instant termination if found and HR contacts all companies being moonlit.
Let the man live.
Ask them for a referral and maybe tips/challenges in moonlighting. Like my ancestors said Knowledge is the wine🍷
None of your business, get your shit together.
