Getting laid off on June 26th and my employer is giving me only 10 days to sign up for Cobra, whereas my understanding is that you are legally required to allow atleast 60 days to sign up for Cobra. Can somebody please chime in Also, what other options can be looked into if Cobra is very expensive
Damn bro, which branch got hit?
Non HPE. Have not updated on blind
Search WARN act. There are requirements on company size and layoff number to trigger 60 days notice.
The legal labor laws won’t change for your employer. If they don’t follow labor laws you are lucky
Contact an insurance broker in your area. You’ll get a much better deal than Cobra
Never looked for one before so what would I be searching for ? Health insurance brokers??
Or just search online. Your state likely has a local exchange that was setup for Obamacare. Or go to a site like ehealthinsurance.com
