I have my technical screening with Stripe coming up. I usually code in C++ for DS and algorithmic problems. But have heard stripe’s technical screening is slightly different, they ask more of string and json parsing related questions (correct me if I’m wrong), which will be difficult in C++. I do have some time for screening hence can prepare in advanced. Which language is suited better for technical screening at Stripe interviews? How are Python and Golang for this? Those who have interviewed with Stripe in past or work at Stripe, please share your experience. Thanks, YOE: 4 TC: 200k #stripe #stripeinterview
Questions are beefy with lot of word porn which will require quick reading and understanding of the question Not difficult but not easy either as one has to finish all the parts… usually 3-4 parts which builds up on each other. If you don’t finish all the parts then it’s reject
I hate this kind of problems! It not only challenge you coding but also reading… I fucked up one similar which had almost half screen of text and I had to read back and forth multiple times to understand what was the question 🥵
Anecdotal experience: candidates that use python and JS tend to be more successful because they don't have to write verbose code to do something simple. We do make allowances for more verbose languages like Java but ultimately you should pick something that you're comfortable with and can code quickly.
Does strip care about candidates language? Like c# ruby java is etc? Or only consider heavy they use in company?
Language choice has no effect on the outcome if you can finish the exercises in time. Just don't use brainfuck - a human has to read your code after all.
Hi, coding fast and correct code in the first try is very important in stripe interview. They don’t care about time complexity or space complexity or anything, so you can just do brute force solutions. String parsing is required so if you know python then it is better to write your code in it then C++.
