Coding or specialist digital marketing course?

I’m a brand \ growth marketer...I now want to get into growth marketing or product marketing in a tech company. Which course would be more relevant given I’ve already been doing generalist marketing for a few years? Intro to coding or a specialized digital marketing course?

If you’re not gonna be a developer go and focus on topics relevant to the position.

For context - some people have said coding is useful for web analytics related to digital marketing. https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/coding-modern-marketer

More often than not, people I’ve encountered who “learn coding” but don’t actually work in development, tend to overestimate their competence and understanding of technical issues and end up wasting time trying to get something working when it could have been handled by a specialist faster and better.

If you're in marketing, stay away from programming. Programming is an entire profession unto itself, and you'll barely be useful with your coding skills in the marketing department.

So so so untrue, holy moly. In fact, you’re that much more valuable being one of the only tech folks in Marketing. I guess it is a debated spot, though, but it is a booming field for digital marketing right now

But what about those situations where a marketer needs to pull customer lists and segment data for campaigns? Or when they need to run reports on past campaigns? Or if they need to tweak a website....basic coding is useful for that. And those programmers are certainly not going to want to waste their time helping a marketer out with that sort of stuff right?

Do what a Jr engineer would do and check stack overflow
