Just found out about pip culture in cohesity, is this real ? I am planning to join cohesity next month Location : Bangalore Reference article [Blind] Check out this post! Amazon -> Cohesity Bangalore (Tech Industry) https://us.teamblind.com/s/YwpyRoGX #cohesity
How did you clear interviews?
Havent heard of any pips. Infact we are severely understaffed and looking to hire more people.
Any chance looking for new grads?
I know someone who was working pretty decent programmer, who left Cohesity India 6 months after joining, without any another job in hand because they “didn’t enjoy the job”. So, looks possible.
There are few people who have it bad and are also very vocal on Blind. Generally everything is good and what you will expect. We do internal surveys constantly for these things, and people generally seem to be happy — except the ones here.
Having worked in both places pip at cohesity is nothing compared to amazon. The process to pip exists in cohesity but it’s not like a rule like amazon. In amazon every org has mandatory pip of 2% under the term unregretted attrition
Pip is real those who are saying otherwise don't know folks who got piped and how badly it was executed.
It's not mandatory PIP like Amazon. But why shouldn't it be there for under performers? Many people are saved because of PIP and started performing better. Better than directly get fired
Cohesity will give you a lot of value before you join; once you join, Cohesity does not care about you anymore, with time you will be paid less than market and new hires. They want you to work 24x7 and if you protest, you will be put on PIP. And forget promotions, it’s only for the execs.
This is true for many companies. We will run out of companies to work if we go by blind reviews I think any company above 3.5 is okay
This is true. Cohesity culture is a dumpster fire. I worked there for a little over 1 year and got kicked out by a new manager. He gave me a choice of Pip or severance. I took the severance and left. This guy was pretty shady with a non-tech background. I heard he moved to Facebook recently after just 1 year at Cohesity. I digress. The performance review was a sham. They never revealed my ratings or even did a proper appraisal meeting. Everyone had forgotten about the performance review and one fine day, my colleague asks if I got a raise. That's how we got to know that those with higher ratings got a raise. The company is so dysfunctional at the middle management level, that there's no system in place for anything. Everyone is busy putting off fires dealing with customer issues. The reason why some people flourish here is because a lot of them are colleagues who earlier worked at another dysfunctional company Veritas. Basically, these people operate like mafia and stamp out any newcomers. The worst thing I saw was once a Director advised a customer to use SMB share to keep all their DBs (they have a clone workflow which creates test/dev dbs) and all of them were lost when the node went down. Guess what happened to this guy? Nothing, he got promoted after a while. All this happened at the HQ. I can only imagine the situation in Bangalore. I just wish luck to anybody who joins that sham of a company.
I observed the same things at HQ. I was with Cohesity for almost 5 years. I was pushed out by the Veritas mafia as well. Bunch of clowns in middle management. They don’t value their employees.
Micro Focus / Eng puUj02 I think I know you. If you are who I think you are, I had a great time working with you.
You are coming in from amazon, you might handle it better lol
Not much into politics 🤣
