Edit: yes, this isn't a lowball, I'm super fortunate and rich and grateful to get this offer yada yada Hi everyone, Wanted to ask for advice here about Coinbase offer. I recently got an offer from Coinbase new grad for Zone 1 (SF, NYC): Base: 139.5 | Bonus: 7 | Stock: 50 Total TC: ~197 The recruiter explained how everyone gets the same amount to make it fair which lined up with what I've read about Coinbase's non-negotiation policy - so I'm happy with everything so far. However, Coinbase has increased their comp for new grads starting in December to: Base: 150 | Bonus: 7 | Stock: 60 Total TC: ~217 Proof: https://www.levels.fyi/company/Coinbase/salaries/Software-Engineer/IC3/ https://www.teamblind.com/post/Coinbase-new-grad-comp-increase-3YkYnhXb My question is how do I communicate this to my recruiter and tell him I want the increase? I've already accepted verbally and he has sent me the offer letter to sign with the old numbers but I haven't signed yet. I've received a couple of other offers that are a bit higher so I'm willing to walk away if needed. Thanks! #coinbase #negotiate P.S. Yes, I know that I didn't get "lowballed" technically
You think that’s a lowball?
Dam, new grads get paid that much now?
Yes. Did everyone just log in to Blind today for the first time? The market has been white hot for the entire past 6-8 months.
I love how new grads are talking about 200k TC as lowball. This is the greatest country in the world
I know it's not a lowball lol - I needed a clickbait title to get comments because I have no idea how to approach this and I need advice. Anyways, as a side point, does it really matter the dollar amount? If the market is hot enough for 200k to be on the lower end, then 200k is a lowball regardless of any other factors. If tomorrow the tech industry 10x itself and new grads get paid 20m TC then 15m would be a lowball regardless of average household income etc.
Hey OP congrats on the offer. Can you share the interview process and your prep strategy?
I don't think you know what a lowball is
Fresh grad 200k -> ”lowball” 🤡🤡
How is 200k for a new grad low ball?
When was offer letter given?
Actual offer letter was given in the past 5 days.
Don't worry, old one was shared perhaps, you'll be given new one only. No one has received new payroll so far.
Coinbase comp is really low for the stage they’re at in their lifecycle. It’s not well-known enough to already start lowballing people like it’s Apple or Google
How is 200k low for new grad. Lol
