Coinbase is no longer allowing new hires to negotiate their salary. Also, they are okay if they lose some candidates due to this decision. Is this start of something? Will other companies follow the same policy?#software
lol ok recruiters
Lol do they even want recruiters anymore? Just share salary level page to candidates moving forward lol.
Start of what? Lol
All other companies will follow the same policy! No salary negotiation
Hmm..maybe I'm being naive but doesn't this mean less headache for ppl trying to join coinbase? TC is X, don't like it? Move on. I guess in theory it's nice... practically I would be pissed if I went through hoops and hoops of interviews and then realize the pay is not what I was expecting
I think it’s just stupid it’s not going to workout for them! Unless they want to hire new grads! No real talent will be working for them.
Oh damn. Why didn’t we consult this guy before making this decision? We relied on the internal folks who work at one of the top talent bar companies in the country and not to the guy on Blind. We’re slipping
There is no such thing as no negotiation in life. You just need to set your expectations properly well in advance. It’s not up to the companies to decide, the market is too hot for that.
Tell that to Chris Voss
Guess I’m in the minority, but I like it! Wish you made it a poll.
Done lol
This is great. They will offer as per your caliber. I hate when companies say we can go up if you get another offer. It is such a bs, it means company is ready to trust someone's else evaluation of candidate more than their own.
lol they are not gonna be willing to pay per caliber. They are gonna pay the same per level. So an L5 with 6 yoe would be paid the same as L5 with 2 yoe. Enjoy!
OP didn't say the offer will be fixed per level but even this is ok. You know what you will get and based on that you can decide to apply or not. Atleast no stupid discussions afterwards.
Great move.
Maybe they can actually make their salary/bonus/equity packages public as well for all their levels.. that would be the game changer.
Pathetic move; the finance sector does not tolerate mistakes.
I think it’s so stupid! But just my opinion.
