I'm one of those guys who likes to make draft PRs to test dumb stuff before putting a PR up for review. And those draft PRs frequently have typos and other mistakes. There's this guy on my team (I just joined the team recently) who always reviews my PRs even when it's draft mode and i'm just like -.-. I've told him several times already that it's just a draft PR and not ready for review but he still starts commenting on it as if I proclaimed it's ready for review. I even tag these PRs as [draft][not4land][wip] lol to hammer the point across but this guy can't take the hint Every time I create a PR, it auto-tags the team, I can't remove them by default. Has anyone come across this weird ass situation before? Idk if this guy's trying to embarass me or what, but I'd like to tell him to kindly fuck off
Create a draft PR then abandon it Create a new PR with no comments
Why donât you make it clear in the description
the description is unfilled, which seems quite clear that it's a draft. i also put tags in the PR summary, namely [draft][not4land][wip]
Why donât you fill the description with a big WIP sticker
in life Iâve found path of least resistance is usually best call. Avoid the c*nt by not opening draft prs. You can maybe push up the branch, squash your commits, then look at the single commit without a pr
Why do you care? Ignore his comments until you publish.
Why do you creat a PR while the branch is still not ready for review? Since they are tagged as reviewers automatically I would just finish up my work before creating the PR. Just my 2 cents
i want the CI tests to run automatically, and also be able to see my diffs in a GUI rather than locally in terminal
There is an option to create a draft which normally is not shared but still run various tests and other signals. Itâs unusual to have anyone added to those.
Bring it up in a retro. Tell the team thatâs how you work and will let them know when the PR is ready for review.
Add WIP at the start of the title in your PR
Change commit message to have [ DO NOT REVIEW ]
Title the PR in bold with a 'DRAFT' on it? That is if you are unable to fix the auto tagging part.
yeah i usually do [draft][not4land][wip] idk, i get the feeling this guy is trying to make me look bad. there are other instances outside of PR reviews where i've gotten that vibe
Are you submitting them as drafts? If not, itâs mildly annoying on the other side, since they do show up as pending review.

The problem seems to be that the team is auto-tagged for a PR before itâs published.
