I estimate that I'll be leaving the company in 3-4 weeks (with how interviews are going). How does sales commission get paid out if I leave before the end of a quarter/half? Is it prorated and paid out or do I lose out on all of it? I ask because I'm pacing really well and it would be a bummer to leave money on the table... #sales #newjob
You need to carefully read your contract of employment . Most companies in the UK will pay what was owed up to the point at which you resign and then nothing thereafter . So if you resign on the last day of February for example whatever commission you had in that pay packet will typically be your last .
Check the worldwide incentive compensation (WWIC) site as it details payouts from voluntary separation. Pretty sure you keep any advances you got but nothing further. Where are you looking to go? What role currently?
When negotiating I always tell them I'll be losing x amount by leaving now and build that into the offer
Many companies only pay you commission til the day you leave. Have to be employed at quarter end/half/year to get paid those. Obviously can’t speak for all companies though.
