Quitting this Slave life
All of them. That's the only right answer.
I joined Slack a little bit before the IPO from a FAANG. Despite a TC haircut, my base salary was still good and my strike price was very favorable (even during the lowest points of Slack's 2019/2020). After IPO, it made me realize that a private company's evaluation, even up until IPO is very volatile. If you're money motivated I'd recommend joining pretty much any big name pre-IPO company, especially if you're getting an improved position or type of work, it's a no brainer. That said, don't join right after the IPO because there were some really salty newbies who had high strike prices at signing.
