I have worked at TikTok US core tech for 3 years. AMA.
Which companies ( I guess Wipro/Infosys etc ) would be most likely to hire a friend of mine who has master's in Information systems from a CIS university but she has been working in non related jobs ( lab tech ) for the last 8 years. She is doing a 4 month boot camp to refresh her skills ( nodejs, react etc full stack ) but I find she is objectively good at software engineering so expect her to clear the interviews. She is fully work-authorized so any referrals would be really helpful.
Since it is a female, she has good chances. There are several companies that have a specific program, that helps peoplelike v her come back to the workforce.. Google, " returnship".. These aren't permanent jobs but more like paid internships, where at the end of the internship the company will decide to hire or not.
Some companies offer relaunch your careers programs, mostly targeted at women who may have taken leave to become full-time mums. I remember there being one when I was at Intel. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/jobs/relaunch-your-career.html
IBM has one
Apply in brillio
Google returnship program, Accenture also has one
She needs to mass apply, like 100 applications per week for any open position. It will work out eventually.
Gap
Interested in this too. I don’t know that it’s around anymore but a few years back Meta had a one year SWE program around this, for people from unconventional backrounds or gaps (mom that took time off for kids). Maybe there are other programs like this
i think inmobi has something like this. not sure though
Expedia and Affirm have apprenticeship programs like this. Though I don’t think either programs are open atm.
