Debating if I should pursue a masters program. The “affordable” option for me should cost about $25k for 2 years. The school that I really want to go to is around $55k for 2 years. My current company benefit is terrible where they only reimburse $5k/yr and still expect you to be employed with the company after, I plan on switching to tech hopefully a few months before my masters would be finished. Any companies that have insanely good tuition benefits? Like if Apple covers a lot of tuition could I just apply for a part time Apple Store position and work the required hour minimum? Or even Starbucks, Target, etc. that are low time commitment? Bonus points if it’s a great company to work for with high TC positions after completing the masters. TC: $100k
I don’t plan on quitting my current job to go for a masters. Just looking for some part time job at a good company that I can work around my main job and school to be eligible for tuition assistance.
Lol good luck finding a company who fully reimburses tuition for part-time employees…
Maybe not fully covers but like 50% covered would be nice if the cost of the program is $50k. I used to work at a store that would pay $7k of tuition costs for a graduate program and only required 10-hours per week to be eligible. That was the best I’ve seen but I was also getting paid like $13/hr
If you get a job that pays $50k more but doesn’t have tuition benefits you’ll be in a better position than one that pays $20k more but can cover. Since you’ll still have that raise after college is done.
Microsoft does like 10k a year
Starbucks looks pretty good.
The website makes it looks like they only cover bachelor degrees and you have to attend ASU
Not sure what to tell you then. Lots of companies are cutting down benefits like that. Good luck!
What kind of masters program and why do you think you need it? That should be your focus instead of which companies sponsor
Data science masters. I think I can use this degree to try and get an associate DS position in a big tech company or even a sr/staff data analyst position. Main goal is to hit the $250k tc mark
I see. Not a bad pivot. 250k right off the bat will be tough. 180-200k is more likely then 250-300k 2 years after that.
