Hey all. About a year ago I moved to London to continue work for my then employer, who very recently made me redundant. I’m here on a work visa and I feel abandoned. I’m a UX Researcher with years of XP and an advanced research degree. Frantically looking for UXR, Sr UXR, Research Manager roles. Is anyone here hiring or know someone who might be? Please help a gal out?!#layoff #hiring
UK gives out visas to people that graduated from a certain list of universities and if you’re a SWE that helps too. You should consult an immigration lawyer to see what your options are
DM for SAP - Happy to help out and anyone else too! :-)
If you are a US citizen or permanent resident you should return home. Is there a clause in your employment agreement that requires your employer to move you back? This happened to a friend who worked for a global construction company and it paid for his relocation to the US
Not a US citizen!
Just don't accept any international company or relocation anymore. Companies have no integrity anymore and cannot be trusted.
What happened? You were relocated to London and then laid off?
Meta - IG?
They had a role open recently but wasn’t open for referrals :/
No I meant I thought you were part of the layoffs/relocations of IG London. IG no longer hires in the UK, so if you see a position there, it's probably not legit
This happened in my first engineering job moving from SF to NYC - got laid off after 3 weeks after just moving in.
