I’m posting this for a friend who doesn’t have Blind. He recently received offers from AMZN, FB, and Google and he is negotiating the final offers. He wants to get some helpful feedback on the growth perspective and long term value of these offers. I’m trying to convince him of joining Amazon but he wants to hear from FB and Google folks. Especially if they have any arguments to choose Google or FB over Amazon given the TC numbers. YOE: 8, PhD AI Location Seattle Amazon L6: 160 base, 550k sign on split in 2 yrs, 760k RSU/ TC 4yr avg: 513K/ final offer Google L5: 172k base /50k sign on/ 690k RSU/15% bonus/ TC 4yr avg: 419k / negotiable FB L5: 205k base/ 100k sign on/ 600k RSU / 15% bonus / TC 4yr avg: 450k / negotiable Edit: FB and Google TC includes refresher RSU estimates. Amazon doesn’t provide similar refreshers.
throw away the fb one, that offer is much lower per hour basis. plus the place is toxic and a rat race, you know "move fast".

760k is broken into 5/15/40/40, so if stock remains same it's 38/114/304/304. Your signon may be split to compensate that into 310/240 totalling 508/514/464/464 which is solidly in L7 band, so if you're sure about the level, then expect no new stock in the first 4 years and be ready for a cliff.
Considering how Amazon does their comp targeting, being at the very top of the band isnt always good for long term (after year 3 and 4). So unless you want to have a huge cliff if you dont get promoted, or just want to stay for a couple years, then do amazon but otherwise you'll get way low TC if you decide to stay but not promo to L7. And even if you do get promo to L7, you may not even see more TC since you'll be low band L7.
Ask for 800k RSU from FB. Refreshers will more than compensate the remaining gap (13k). Take free food and other benefits into account and it’s a no brainer over amazon. Congrats on the offers
Standard Fb E5 offers go up to 700K RSU, and folks on Blind did report 800K so friend can def ask. 7$!6)?5(, is right though, OP's friend should count perks in. Fb has free food, a better 401K match (though now both Amzn and Fb have backdoor Roth, used to be only Fb), MUCH better timeoff and parental leave policy, extra $$for having babies... Probably about $50K worth of perks in most people's estimation. Finally, if OP's friend is consistently Top Tier at Amzn, their TC will probably not change at all due to it being ridiculously huge from the start. If friend Greatly Exceeds at Fb consistently, refreshers will bring them well over Amzn.

Agreed. This is definitely above band and expectations will be extremely high from management. If we take into account refreshers at $120k each year in F or G, having an offer with FB or Google at $470k would be equivalent to what Amazon is offering. I’d ask FB to match Amazon citing concerns with wlb (don’t bring up the refresher fact and if recruiter brings it up ask for it in writing, which they simply won’t do), then Google match FB.
