Compass Layoffs September 2022
Compass is laying off 75% of engineering in US by end of September 2022. Leadership blamed everything on interest rate. But it looks like this was the plan all along. Build the platform and kick engineering team out in US. Send all maintenance work to India Update: It is going to be above 80% of what we have today. Some of the orgs will be wiped off totally.

Wow, pretty sure this is the largest layoff percentage wise for engineering (not including Fast) When they let you know ahead of time you’re being laid off, might as well just spend that time LCing!
Sign of non-technical leadership. Building software is not like building a bridge that once it's built all the hard work is over. Company will sink.
