Posting for my son. #dataanalytics #datascience He is a new grad (econ phd., mba, stat msc.) with 0 yoe and has been approached by a recruiter at Citi. The role is: AVP Qualitative Models Validation Senior Analyst Any guidance on what TC he should be aiming for (the job is in Long Island, NYC, NY). TIA TC: $0 Yoe: 0
He has an MBA, an econ PhD,and a master's in stats? I think really it's just gonna be a standard PhD offer. Might have luck posting in econ PhD forums also.
Good call, thanks. Yes he has all three. He said he wanted to get as well rounded an education as possible since the university was footing the bill.
If possible ask him not to accept validation roles. It gets harder to switch jobs in future. It’s a dead field which kills creativity and a lot of pressure from regulators

He should try for hedge funds with such an impressive background. The company has too many people and lots of politics. Avoid big banks.
