What is the compensation offered for an SDM in Amazon? Currently a senior SDM in Nike and thinking of switching.
What's your current comp? Level targeted?
Should be pretty decent (~300K total comp for SDM, but depends on the level). Now, making it to Sr SDM is pretty hard (directors in other companies map to SDM at Amazon) and culturally Amazon can de pretty harsh for SDMs without a big tech company background.
We have a few SDM and Sr. SDM that aren't worth crap. Don't know how they got here. All they do is talk about things - promises and what they did at Microsoft but barely follow leadership principles
Yup!
Remember your total comp includes RSUs. You don't pay for them, but you do need to last 3-4 yrs to get them all...
Max base comp in Seattle is 160K
Not just Seattle, it's $160k for all of US
In NY and SF the max is 175k
Why do people keep taking about base, when the total comp is most often twice that ?
no idea. it's the weirdest thing. like if you wanna talk about monthly take-home, that makes sense. but why only mention base??
Base salary is your only guaranteed income. I personally budget my life around my base salary, everything else is cream. Of course other income still needs to be considered and it's important but base income is always going to be priority one for me.

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
1 door desk and a bucket to fill with tears
And COE for why tears overflowed on floor.
