I graduated from college this past May and I am currently working a full time job. In my free time, I am looking into building some side projects and was hoping to participate in some competitions/hackathons to fuel my motivation for my projects. I looked into Microsoft Imagine Cup but I was not eligible to participate because it is only for students. Is there something similar to Microsoft Imagine Cup but for working professionals? I am specifically referencing Microsoft Imagine Cup because it lasts longer (their Round 1 is a little under 2 months) compared to traditional hackathons that last a weekend. I have done many hackathons as a student, but the problem with those is they are simply too short to motivate me enough to turn my projects into something meaningful. Most often than not, those projects will not be revisited after the hackathon has ended. I am hoping something longer term will incentivize me to put in the work to turn a project into a product with actual users. In general, it seems like I am struggling to find competitions that are usually available to students to also be available to working professionals, whether it be hackathons, stock pitch competitions, case competitions, venture capital competitions, etc. Or maybe there are and I am just not aware of them since I am new to the workforce. If there are any such competitions that focus on building projects over a longer period of time, I would love to hear of them! #tech
There are industry-specific hackathons for working professionals, sometimes sponsored by specific companies. You don't have to work in that industry. For instance, solar and clean tech or projects for social good are a popular area, if you do a Google search.

Not what you are looking for, but if you are working full time you probably have the skills to do you own side projects. Try making a startup idea
