Just wonder how people feel about Confluent IPO price as it's close to IPO, may be in year time frame. They have already moved to RSUs. Poll: Expected per unit stock usd value (Not valuation) Valuation at the last funding was 4.5 Billion at $15 per stock. #ipo #startup
Confluent will be a big failure. They are prepping for an IPO, but chances are it will get acquired for the IP and some customer base. They don't have long term technology and can't sustain longer run. It is not a money making pony if anyone is planning on joining
Didn’t they also say that about Google or basically any other tech company. I bet in hindsight everyone will be like “I knew it’s going to be big”. Also, I don’t understand what the big risk is. If the IPO flops I can still get an Oracle offer within two-three weeks probably lol.
How’s the stream processing/analytics TAM growing? Would they have any advantage in expanding further into this area?
Confluent should be bigger than MongoDB in the long run, and the product should be better than Cloudera's. I would say around $30 (roughly $10B valuation) if they move to Cloud successfully. Otherwise, expect $4B valuation (like current Cloudera's valuation) in the long run.
Their current offers are at around $8-9B
$9B is too high for now. I suspect that they are using Snowflake and Databricks as the valuation model, which is obviously inappropriate. Looking at the long-term, $10B+ should be achievable though with successful cloud conversion.
Am in agreement with what the Oracle poster said. Those I know in the company think they need to take advantage of the bubble to get $ out but that the current ops aren't built for the long haul.
This is incorrect.
Sure you're entitled to your opinion and my colleagues at the company are entitled to theirs. I happen to trust them ofc.
Priced at $36
Congrats to Confluent and everyone there. But I stick to my original assessment, this is a stock which has PEAKED on day 1 🙄. My price target is 8$ at the end of the year
😆
@PorF53 is there a holding period for employees or you can sell all vested stock?
I assume the numbers are billions. Where is the option 10-20?
Nah, they're talking about actual stock price in $ lol
