I am considering an offer from SWE Confluent. What do you folks think about it ? Base 200k Stock Options 50k vesting over 4 years. strike price is ~13$ and 33$ being preferred price Location - Mountain View Felt good after talking to folks during interview. I like team/work and have heard good things about culture. So it boils down to offer. The stock options that I have been quoted are based on 10B valuation. How much is upside beyond 10B valuation one can expect given Confluent’s TAM and their offerings. I am constantly coming across comparison of Confluent to Elastic, MongoDB and even Databricks and Snowflake. How reasonable is that? Both Elastic and MongoDB has substantial portion of their revenue come from Saas/Subscription, as seen in their 10K-Q filings. Though confluent has both licensed on-prem products and cloud based product, what I believe gathered is that their revenue from cloud is not substantial right now, even though its growing at a higher rate. Which makes me question the current project valuation of 10B valuation? Do folks at Confluent think the company is there already, or should be by end of 2021? Thoughts? If the valuation gets to 20b during ipo, how much would you make on options. Within 4 years it can definitely double
Any insights about why you think it can go to 20B within 4 years. I am looking to gather more data points to make an informed decision. Thanks.
You can probably look at the revenue growth per year and assume that company valuation will grow at the same speed

What is the dollar amount? Unless you know the actual values it’s difficult for you to take a decision.
the equity gain here should be 1M based on 10B valuation

In today's world any tech company will have it's IPO price atleast double irrespective of the valuation. Thanks to RB and redditors. Do you know the preferred price, if they IPO in next 2 yrs their IPO price will be roughly 2-3x of current preferred price and post IPO it will be 4-5x. So definitely you will be multi millionaire. 50k options is large amount.

i remember its valuation is 4.5b
That was in April 2020. Since then the valuation definitely went up, internally.
yeah, i believe preipo companies are supposed to valuation at regular cadence. 10B is as per last valuation
