I have a Masters in Data Science but specialised in data engineering. But with COVID in place, I got into a management consulting company with no other option. Now all I do is PM work (Similar to a BA). I have Cloudera certification in Spark. I have been doing LC for python and sql. Is there a chance for me to jump from consulting to a proper data engineer role? If so how should I prepare for interviews? Does certifications help? Should we know streaming (Kafka)? Doe we have to study system design? Any help or guidance is much appreciated. #data #dataengineer #sql #python
In same position for last 2 years. Trying hard to break into a FTE role. Want to take a break and start prep and interviewing, but not sure how to go about FMLA on a H1B
I’m in similar situation. Do D&A consulting within financial crimes for FAANG, F100 banks, cryptos etc. I want to swap to a data analyst role or data engineering role at a FAANG ASAP
My question is if we apply to FTE companies for a data engineer position, would we get calls considering the fact that we are in consulting?

'Hindutva': The Radical Hindu Ideology That Seeks to 'Push Christianity Out of India’
Literally on the same boat right now. I took up the job because of H1B but it’s such soul draining bs which, to quote Les Grossman, a nutless monkey could do
What are you planning to do now?
I’ve been applying to new grad roles for SWE since it’s been less than 2 years since I graduated, but thinking of going back to school next year if nothing works out. You should try applying to new grad roles too if you aren’t that far out from graduation
