Health/Clinical background with some F500 retail internships as well. doctorate degree. How do i get in at Deloitte or Accenture? Jobs all seem to target experienced hires however i dont graduate til May. App process seems more difficult than MBB or life sci firms. I can send my resume if anyone is willing to do internal referral.
I don't see why people want to work for these firms. Pay is subpar, and you only learn BS non-technical skills.
MBB is the true goal. I am just trying to keep my options open as i know i want to enter consulting
Same comment applies to MBB.
F500 on blind lol. FAANG is everything
My bad. F10
Don't join accenture, waste of time
Wait why do you want to join ACN or Deloitte when you have a doctorate?
I want to join MBB. I am just keeping my options open for other firms. Thats why i am asking, just in case. Lol
Ahh I see. Well ACN is hiring like crazy right now buttttt I wouldn’t call the culture academic if that’s something important to you
Working as consultant can expose you to different areas and can help you understand where you want to go. Work there for 1-3 years, understand where you want to advance and get a good job offer. That's what I did.
I agree! This is my plan if i can get in somewhere
Having worked for both Deloitte and now Accenture. I recommend Deloitte
Agree with commenters here. Big 4 today is overrated. Pay is ok not great for the expectations they have. Long hours and 1/3 will leave within 1-2 years. 2/3 will leave by 3-4th year. Remaining will get stuck at mid management level for life or until they get kicked out. Only 1 in maybe 100 make it to partner after slogging out for 12-15 years. Used to be a great career path when consulting was looked as a prestigious profession. Like pilots and cabin crew, times have changed and clients no longer value consulting. They would rather hire internally at a fraction of consulting fees. And with the perks they offer, the smart ones are now going internal than consulting.
You talk like it’s different anywhere else. The space at the top is scarce in any company, most people (90%) will end up stuck in middle management or below. If you think 12 to 15 years to get to a partner position is a long time, do you have any idea how long it takes to attain an equivalent position in the industry? A lot longer, and you will have to slog a lot more if you want those positions.
If you are looking for an entry level job, you may have a chance, however you are out of the target audience that Deloitte hires in entry level positions (college grads). Your degree is not helping you either. If you want MBB, you should try them out of the bat. They do consider a lot of people with advanced degrees in their hiring process. Don’t waste time at Deloitte or Accenture. Also, if you want feedback from more people in consulting, join fishbowl. Blind is full of programmers and software engineers that only like to talk and lie about their total compensation.
Don’t http://exposingevilempire.com/
Haha! I keep seeing that. I am just applying to keep my options open. Obv MBB is the goal
Had a close friend work there. Regular 80 he weeks for entry work
