I joined a well-funded startup (based in LA) as a remote contractor in March. My contract ended over a month ago and nobody has noticed... I’ve continued to work. And I’ve continued to receive ~$4000 every two weeks. What should I do? Is the chaos/lack of organization pretty normal? Am I in a better position being off contract with the ability to walk at any time? FYI - I asked for more money last week. TC: 90k
I have to ask every two weeks to be paid. Then it’s processed manually. It isn’t an automated payroll issue, so not so much of a glitch...
You're still working and still submitting invoices (or the equivalent) so doesn't sound like there's a problem. The problem comes I when they realize it and stop paying you. Easy to say "why did you do that for free?" Get it resolved asap. If you asked for more money, sounds like an extension is coming anyway

Is that the guy with the stapler fetish?
Yeah, doesn’t he get fired like years ago but not off the payroll and no one informed him he was fired, so he kept coming in.
This is fine as long as you are submitting invoices to them or some other written record that you are being paid for services rendered. If it's an informal arrangement with nothing written down, that's very risky.
Most of the contracts have end dates but a clause of continuing work at the end of it and a new contract may not be required. Also your TC is too low for a well funded startup :)
Working on the TC :)
Depends what you’re doing, ie SWE or social media manager

Why I Find Free Palestine Inspiring
You are providing a service you cannot take back. They are providing money which they can take back. It’s not in your benefit to be in this situation. Ask for new contract.
Got it.
