Hi, I wish to know the intern to full-time conversion rate at Intel labs, Santa Clara. in this covid situation. A friend of mine has an internship offer this summer as a Deep learning SW intern. So asking for him. Any information is appreciated. #intelAI #intellabs #internship #conversion #job #hiring #deeplearning
Thanks for the views and facts guys! He has another intern offer from a firm that offers high TC for fulltime role. However the intern role at Intel is quite interesting for him than the other intern offer. So it's good to try Intel for internship?

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
From what I’ve heard, they highly incentivize hiring interns to full time. Back then managers would get interns just to get a position opened up and use that rec to hire externally. I think they’re penalized if they do that now by not getting interns anymore. At least in my group I’ve seen every intern get hired unless they’re really bad.
Glad. Thanks for the info. Also are you aware of Intel AI labs? And the pay scale for fulltime ? Is it really on par with standards?
Intel Labs is pretty broad and overlaps a lot of different groups so I can’t really say. Since your friend is an intern I’m going with YOE 0, so depending on what degree it can range from Grade 5 (BS) to Grade 7 (PhD). Intel salary will be significantly less than FAANG but the pay scale is “higher” if it’s in AI relative to the median salary for a SWE within Intel.
