Can anybody provide insights on cost of living comparison between NY(Jersey City) vs Seattle (Suburbs)? Moving my office location. Looking for feedback on salary adjustment? #amazon #Microsoft
Seattle suburbs vary widely from cheap ghettos to expensive as fuck
It is almost the same and home prices are jacked up everywhere. Seattle is cleaner but weather sucks in Seattle. Jersey City ain't great either unless you love the seasons.
No state income tax in WA. 10% sales tax in King County (where Seattle and suburbs are). Gas is $4. Car tabs are about 3% of your car's market value. Property tax is about 1%. Massage is $50/hr.

Seattle is a great place to look for better job opportunities, but it's known for its rainy &dark sky and mild winter weather throughout the year.
No city taxes (~4% less income tax).
JP has offices in a couple buildings in JC (Newport), lots of tech there, cheaper office space than Manhattan and NJ gave some tax breaks
