Couchbase going IPO, how to participate?
Just heard this news. Article says Couchbase is going to debut at $3B but with competitors like MongoDB at $20B and Snowflake at $100B, it's almost certain that we are going to see the stock go up very fast. I missed both Mongodb and Snowflake trains, but really don't want to miss this one. I have equityzen account but they don't offer Couchbase. DOA. Postgres, Snowflake, Databricks, Mongo, the three clouds RDS/DynamoDb equivalents, Elastic eh. If you’re not those you don’t have a very bright data store future
This eerily reminds me of very similar things I heard when mongo went public at $23 and now it's $323 something! Markets don't work on present, my dear, they work on the future.
Fwiw I bought Mongo at $30, so I think I have some credence to understand these things. Mongo is in a different league. It’s widely popular, still growing, and is good for general applicability. So the $30 was huge value but I don’t hold shares anymore at $300. Couchbase isn’t those things and won’t be mongo
Snowflake is at $61B today. I don't know where you got that $100B figure from.

It could, but by how much. It's trading at $100 billion dollars today. Even if it comes down by half, it still over 2x the ipo price.
