Hello all, I could really use your help with deciding on next steps in my career. I've been QA/Auto at Workday for over 4 years with also some Scrum Master experience this past year. I have no intention of wanting to code for my work so instead entertaining new career transitions. Routes I'm interested in are Program Management, Technical Program Management (though I'm not sure I'm technical enough honestly)……. or just YOLO it and go into sales. All I know is Dev/QA isn't for me. Has anyone here navigated any such transitions?
Look into Product management.
I was unsuccessful at landing a product role at Workday largely due to experienced externals :(. Would I need an mba?
No you don’t. Try again. Get to know PM hiring managers and show your skills by doing more of the PM legwork on your projects. Also try at other places. If you don’t have visa issues, I’ve seen people transition by getting a job as one at smaller companies (startups) and then switching after a year to PM in big companies.
