Have you ever been given a counter offer by your current employer when you gave notice to them that you're leaving for another company? #engineering #software #swe
Worked in the current company for 6 months. Sent my resignation email today but was contacted by senior management telling me that I have done well so far and can grow here. They are ready to match offer which is 20% more than current. New org is a risk in terms of how people/team will be. Here it is good. What to do?
Take 20%, after all you were switching cause of money
The rule of thumb is to never accept a counter.
Leave until you are going to become a VP
Yes (at Microsoft) but I got lucky and it worked out, I’ve heard other stories that weren’t so good about this
But you still moved out to Google?
Few years later yeah
If you are indispensable, do it.
Dont generally do it
