Credit Suisse

UBS just offered to acquire Credit Suisse, $CS, for $1 billion. This means that $CS shareholders would be paid $0.27 per share. An 87% DISCOUNT to the $2.01 closing price on Friday. This is either the biggest lowball offer of all time or Credit Suisse is in serious trouble. Whats going to happen to the markets? 🍿

Is it already agreed on?

Could you please give a summary of what's Credit Suisse and what's happening to it and how it's related to SVB?

I think you missed the news that was slipped out…how a bunch of mid banks are asking FDIC to guarantee depositors for 2 years. What this means is that those mid/smaller banks are seeing outflows continuing..😬

CS is going to 0 this week. Its either UBS or nationalization and with the later equity is going to get wiped out anyway (and debt is also likely to be affected).
