Credit check for employment
Do the typical FAANG, Twillio, Cisco, other big name techs do credit checks for employment? Will bad credit ruin chances for selection? Looking at program management role.
Only place I’ve ever had run my credit was a bank. Anything else they haven’t run credit, just a background check.

Credit checks for roles that require security clearances working with the government. Commercial space doesnt have credit checks, only background checks.

Credit checks for employment not closely related to finance is illegal in many states, notably Washington. California has more exemptions but its generally prohibited. Since most of FAANG are HQ'd or have offices in either of these states, I think it'd be extremely rare for them to have force credit checks for only some of their applicants.
