Who would you choose to work for at this point in time? The cloud security market seems to be moving towards providing a suite of cloud security products under 1 brand. Crowdstrike is a leader in Endpoint Protection and getting their consolidated cloud security act together. Lacework is an upstart that seems to be making huge strides in consolidating cloud security with amazing tech. The cloud security TAM itself is increasing at a rapid rate. Looking outside in, it seems like both have similar potential. Crowdstrike seems a little laid back with good WLB, whereas Lacework seems to be fast-paced with poor WLB. Crowdstrike seems to be paying decent TC with RSUs, and Lacework seems to be still only giving out ISOs. But there seem to be more opportunities to learn at Lacework. #tech #security #cnapp #cloudsecurity #lacework #crowdstrike
Crowdstrike GOAT tier
Go for Crowdstrike; Lacework has nothing exceptional to learn from. The company is seeing a significant talent churn and most talent is headed for other cybersecurity companies like Wiz
Which talent would that be? The people I know that left weren't great at their jobs.
Well there is significant talent churn happening in customer facing roles; I think you are either not at this company anymore or in your own bubble
I'm very happy at CrowdStrike. DM me if you have questions
Can I DM you also?
Of course
Both companies have very different TAMs, CRWD is driven with EDR, and all the add-ons modules that benefit from EDR single agent. Though CRWD does have Cloud security products are only complementary with EDR. Lacework is pure cloud-secuerity play, and none of the EDR/XDR products. If your goal is work on top line cloud security products such as CSPM/CWPP I would choose Lacework. More risk better reward.
Thanks for the response. Why do you say CRWD's cloud security products are only complementary? The perception I have is that they are trying to make an aggressive push to go into the cloud security market, while keeping their EDR market intact.
CSPM is completely saturated
Crowdstrike isn’t even the best dinosaur company in the space. If you want to coast, go to PAN. If you want the upside of an upstart, go to LW. If you care about the engineering pedigree, solving hard problems, it’s a no brainer - LW.
This aged well.
Crowdstrike is the GOAT in the industry. Great products and fast paced engineering. Joined last year and it’s been great. Interesting engineering challenges to solve while learning a shit ton. DM me if u have more questions.
Can I DM?
Lacework is too far behind in cloud wars
Crowdstrike is shite
@Amzn - did u get a reject?
TC ? How many options did lacework provide ? At what strike price ? What is the preferred price they are claiming you got ?
Lacework is going downhill; had massive layoffs last week. 2nd big layoff in 2 years; 20% each time. Its not even meeting internal revenue target; growth stalled and competition is killing it
