A recruiter from Cruise reached out to me. I like the role but I'm concerned about layoffs due to prevailing economic circumstances. Would it be a good idea to move to Cruise now?
Highly unlikely, especially on core teams. The books are still good a couple to few years.
Didn't they lay off 2 years ago when books were equally good?
I disagree. Like chicagary said we had layoffs 2 years ago when books were arguably better. Books are decent but tbh many teams are expecting layoffs at the start of the year. It is unlikely this would impact core teams or really eng much at all, but I will be shocked if we don't trim some fat
Anything is better than Lyft in this market
We are well funded and on a growth path.
We are still going to have layoffs though
How long before the 2b cash runs out wo any significant cash flow
Why does cruise ask leetcode hard for tech interviews. Is that normal.
It's just based on the number of applicants they have I'm sure. I didn't mind the LC hard questions as much as I minded talking to the director who was a complete obnoxious asshole. I would never work for this company. Stay away. You've been warned.
I m 99.9% sure they will layoff folks. No way they can sustain that hefty valuation...
I agree
