Do they really find many candidates that are willing to do all this or are they out of touch? For background last year when I was at a smaller company interviewing for my next move, I applied to 2 crypto exchange companies: Kraken and Gemini. Krakens was for a senior position and the take home took 16 hours to complete the minimum requirements, and I had a bit of fun with it but I thought there was no way other candidates would be willing to spend more time so just turned it in as is. I was rejected for not doing the “bonus requirements” and having no unit tests. Geminis was for a mid-level position I think, and that one took 8 hours and I was rejected for things that weren’t in the requirements at all, like “didn’t use CSS-in-JS”. Have crypto companies become so prestigious that they are looking for such perfect candidates that tick all the boxes to move forward to an on-site? I appreciate that they actually left feedback but god damn, I’d appreciate my time back. TC: 208K
Gemini is the opposite of prestigious
You can decline tests. Tell them they’re time consuming and that you want to meet the team to ensure that it is worth investing your time into. Basically tell them to invest their time in you as much as you are in them.
