Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
Hello, I'm at a pivotal moment in my career and facing a decision between two offers. One is an Engineering Manager position focused on support at Canada Life, an insurance company, with a total compensation (TC) of $140k. This role appeals to me as it presents a significant opportunity for growth in leadership, marking my first venture into such a role. The alternative is a Technical Account Manager (TAM) position at Google, with a starting TC of $200k, including future stock refreshers that, from the second year onwards, could equate to or exceed the first two years' earnings. I'm deeply torn between these options and unsure of which direction to pursue. Would you have any advice or insights to share? #googleoffer @google *both offers are in Toronto*
Google since TC >>> other offer, but also depends on your interest and skill set alignment
200K in which city? If it's California, your after tax pay is only $130K and high cost of living, net income could be lower than yours in Toronto
Canada tax is way higher than in california
Likely you will learn more in Google
Go with growth now. You can get more money later
Dont go to Canada
I already live in Canada
So, it's easier to get out with Google.
