I grew up in the elementary/middle school district (CUSD) and the high school district (FUHSD). The only thing I'll say is that you should look into my elementary school - Faria. You need to enter by lottery but as far as I know everyone who came out of my school was a pretty high achiever. I'd also tell you that it may be a good idea to try living in Sunnyvale for high school - rent is/was cheaper and you don't have to deal with cutthroat competition in high school with quite as much stress for your kid. I went to the "slacker" high school. Anything else, AMA.
Read the article "why selection bias is the most powerful force in education". A huge amount of school ratings are about the pool of incoming students, rather than anything about the school itself.
So it's down to "what friends do you want your kids to have"
Is montevista better than Cupertino high or vice versa
They're all good. Monta Vista has a lot more asian overachiever kids, so it depends on whether you do or don't want that. ('Tino is more balanced/slightly more diverse)
Spark is the charter in sunnyvale. also a good choice.
They are great schools. Be aware that many (hell, most) kids attending Cupertino schools have very driven and successful parents. This transcribes to kids taking additional workloads outside of school. There will be pressures on your student to keep up with “above and beyond” students wearing a cape, with the potential of your student getting lost.
Yeah that's true.
What he/she meant is your kid will be all fucked up in the head if he ain't a genius
