Curious - how will Microsoft match OpenAI employee paper money?
It's potential earnings vs RSUs I don't think they will. They'll probably give the best offer, maybe top of band for a few, and use the cofounders as the biggest incentive. The majority will go elsewhere to chase TC #openai #microsoft
Rumors on Twitter /X say that Microsoft pay each one of them $10 million for sign on. That's really BS, I don't think Microsoft is that stupid to pay that much, but some stupid readers believe that. 😆
Microsoft is not gonna pay 700 people $10M each lol.
However the best research scientists there are about to get some wild offers from competitors in their inbox I feel like maybe 10% will get multiple millions. The rest just some 500-1000k from Microsoft that will deflate to normal range over a couple of years.

They probably need less than 100 people who Sam and team know. They don’t need 700+ people from OpenAI
