As we creep up on a potential deal close I thought I’d ask about life at Square. How is WLB? What’s the vibe? Knowing what you square folks know, if you were at AfterPay would you be excited to join the company? Your team? Looking in general for positives / negatives / things you wish you’d known etc.
It's pretty awesome imo. I think you'll like it. If you're an Aussie, we have a Cash office in Australia. I'm personally pumped for afterpay, big opportunity for everyone.
I'm excited but nervous for this to happen because I feel I won't measure up to the rest of the engineering team at Square. Hoping for the best though and hoping to learn from anyone I can.
Everyone is pretty open and willing to help, don't get intimidated, look at it as a way to learn more!
How do you feel now? Do you feel like you measure up?
The vibe at Square is good. People are excited about our future and the folks are good as well. I assume AfterPay will probably remain mostly its own thing with its own internal culture, but anything you get from Square will most likely be positive.
Good vibes, but I would expect afterpay to mostly stay its own thing. These days, Square is more of a subset of companies under the same umbrella
Yeah think probably its own thing in many ways. But probably at least a fair amount of cross-org collaboration to integrate and enrich the experience of the integration. More like the relationship between Cash and Seller than the relationship between Cash/Seller and TIDAL.
How is wfh policy now?
You can wfh if you want to, not required to go back to office. It's up to you to choose what you like.
