Hello, Happy late holidays to all. I’ve been on blind pretty much since graduating from undergrad and this app and the community have been a tremendous aid in my career growth. I have a background in data analytics and 5 YOE . Currently a VP in lending risk analytics with around 150k TC. Been feeling a little lost as I get closer to promotion which would only bump me to around 180 TC and would be flat for potentially 3-5 years after that unless I leave the company or organization. I’m decent with SQL and great at scripting in python for automation, but have no formal software engineering principles or foundation… kind of a Jack of all trades and curious as to what type of better paying roles I could pivot to? I also have decent presentation skills .. If I even had the option; I’d prefer to leave the role for something that involved a little more strategy and not further bucket myself into a more technical role where I’d definitely be behind the curve (think DS product analytics at a top company) Also forgot to mention that I’m in a lot of personal debt as well as being a young father; potential TC trumps all other deciding factors for me. Thanks.

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
Look at risk teams in fintechs, and faang
To add to this, look for tech companies that offer lending products, banking, payment services. They’d probably have a risk function
Thank you both!
