Solution Architect here currently interviewing for Customer Engineer with GCP and even though still dont know TC nor level but the bonus structure is concerning me little, hoping to get some insights from gcp folks here around that. How often GCP Customer Engineers hit their quota to get ~42% bonus? I know it is 42% of base and it is measured by the whole pod, not individual person, but my fear that I barely hit 10 or 20% and thats gonna shoot down tc. Recruiter didn’t seem willing to share data on that. Appreciate any info. Tc: 220k Yoe: 10yr
I have been in Presales a long time with a 70/30 split 30% being tied to your quota and never ever I have achieved less than 60%(and that was just one year) so you will not hit only 10 or 20% if that was the case the quotas handed out were really poor which is not the case. Plus this is tied to a whole team, you know how fucked up the sales manager will be if his/her team only sell 10 to 20% of what they are expected to sell?
So are you saying the Google Cloud presales comp model pays better and hitting quota is very attainable?
How much you attain is all dependent on your territory and accounts you have and that can change year after year!
