I have a mid level offer from ramp. The offer is not that great relative to faang (my other offer) and other startups but that’s not important right now. What I find fishy/shady is how much one-sided shilling for ramp there is on blind. It seems as if the same people constantly post propaganda about their company and blow up our great it is. Yet I struggle to see the objective facts that have led these people to have such a lofty evaluation of themselves or their company. This to me is a massive red flag, and I wanted to ask the blind community for their honest thoughts on ramp. The levels also seem extremely inflated, and there are no ramp engs who move to faang or other reputable unicorns (whether this is by choice or because no one wants to hire them, is another question). What is actually happening in that company? I know there was a downround, I know fintech is not doing well, I know they’re likely overvalued, and I know the pay is barely even tier 3/4 level pay—am I missing something and that’s why ramp employees are so ostensibly bullish about their company? Or are they hyping it up DESPITE these flaws, as a way to overcompensate? Something about the company just doesn’t sit right with me. #ramp
First time I hear about them. So not exactly hyped.
They were pretty arrogant when I interviewed there.
Never heard of ramp fwiw
Ramp employee here. Most engineers who leave Ramp typically found their own startups, and while a handful do go back to FAANG or joined other unicorns, it’s a rare outcome. So it’s very much by choice. Compared to other fintech companies, we’re continuing to see lots of growth despite the downturn and our down round. There’s plenty of opportunity to be had at Ramp even now.
Fun fact most unicorns are ex ramp employees
How’s the TC? Can they do 800+ remote?
Ramp has top culture and leadership, insane product market fit, and still growing fast. Why else would investors double down at peak fintech downturn? Definitely overvalued, but appropriately hyped.
If this is actually sincere, and not a bait post (Which I doubt) - Anyone can make a Blind, anyone can say what they want about us. Go on LI and filter by former employees if you're curious, the few who leave go to equally top places. Some people don't know about us and that's fine, growth speaks for itself and they'll hear about the IPO down the line 😘
Believe me, people don't have all the time in the world to "bait" companies that, literally by your own admission, "people don't know about." I think your comment says everything OP needs to know about the culture and "shilling" at ramp, lmao. That your first instinct is to get defensive about something that OP hasn't even mentioned explicitly
The reason you see “one-sided shilling” on Blind is because we’re a relatively small eng workforce. We have like 200 (or less) engineers, of course you’re gonna see the same handful of Ramp employees posting on Blind. If you doubt the authenticity of our comments, feel free to drop by our office and chat with us in person
ramp is great 😌
WTF is Ramp? Haven’t heard anyone talk about it one way or another until now.
Literally that was also my question until I started interviewing there.
