In an already bleak market, it’s especially hard for front end rn. Shit sucks.
Who needs frontends if you've got no users??
Who needs backend if there is no need for new ui.
My back ends power machines =] No ui needed
YOE?
maybe if you're bad
True maybe
Why would you write that?
Not true from personal experience. There are more jobs for frontend engineers than backend engineers. Although the barrier to entry is low, good devs almost always get interview calls. Even in a tough market, most companies need a webapp, hence the need for frontend engineers.
Do you think your personal experience is particularly helpful to the OP? Insinuating that they’re a bad engineer is certainly one way to respond to someone who’s struggling and frustrated. Let me show you what a good dev should do in this situation: OP, sorry you’re struggling. It is a tough market out there. Is there anything we can do to help? Are you struggling to get interviews, with the actual interview or something else? Keep your spirits up. You’ll find something.
Doesn't Block use Ember instead of React or something?
I blame all the bootcampers flooding the ever loving shit out of the frontend dev job market for the last decade
All jobs at all levels are getting hit. Now you can get more from a single dev. Backend devs are also getting hit.
Front end is more harder than back end
Do they also grammar gooder?
Yep i feel the same. I would get a few interviews a week last year… now i get none lol even with more yoe and a better resume. Am curious how it is for BE devs, and if it’s equally shit. I do see a lot more job postings for BE, or maybe i just see that bc im a FE dev
